This Beautiful 162-foot Explorer Yacht Became Bering’s New Flagship

Bering boats are bigger than ever.

Turkish Shipyards unveiled its new flagship ship at the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) over the weekend. The 162-foot boat, simply named B165, will be the largest exploration boat in the Bering fleet.

Founded in 2007 by businessman Alexei Mikhailov, Baring is known for producing reliable, full-displacement steel excavators that can travel long distances. The yard has delivered several Pocket Explorers over the past two decades but is now concentrating on larger vessels.

Designed by Valentine Design, the B165 is 17 feet longer than its predecessor. (The current B145 flagship is 145 feet long.) The new addition also features an extended aft deck that differentiates it from other members of the fleet.

With a beam of just under 30 feet, the yacht offers plenty of space on board, but its internal volume is less than 500 tons (499 tons to be exact). Below, on the aft deck, there is a large swimming pool and sun loungers. It also has folding bulwarks to provide extra space when required, and a crane that can be used to lower two ships off the deck. At the stern, the swimming platform is equipped with two sunpads and a ladder leading to the water.

In terms of power, the B165 will be powered by twin Caterpillar C32 engines, which will allow it to reach a range of approximately 4,000 nautical miles at a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.

Bering is currently working on 12 more exploration boats, but we see the B165 reaching the open sea soon.
