A New Study Has Claimed That The Mercedes G-Wagen Is The Least Eco-friendly Car On The Market

Bigger isn’t always better, especially when it comes to environmental impact.

According to Autoblog, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEE) has released its “annual most aggressive list” of the least energy-efficient cars you can buy in 2024. One of the most desirable luxury cars at the top or bottom of this year’s list is the Mercedes-AMG G63

The list comes from the group’s annual Green Car Study, which attempts to determine the environmental impact of every passenger car that can be purchased in the United States each year. Unlike other similar studies, ACEEE looks at much more than just fuel efficiency and therefore compares gasoline, hybrid, and battery-powered vehicles. Instead, it also takes into account emissions from the electricity used by the vehicle, emissions from mining the battery material, and emissions from manufacturing the vehicle and its components. The higher the green rating of a car, the more environmentally friendly it is. Conversely, the lower her score, the more “angry” she will become.

This year, ACEE found that the “worst” car you can buy is the AMG G63 or G-Wagen. The German brand’s stylish SUV, of which there are over 7,000 in stock, received a low score of 20, the lowest score among all 1,200 vehicles reviewed by the group. The group also found that you’ll spend more than $4,200 on fuel each year, even if you limit your mileage to 15,000 miles. The AMG G63 is also no exception to the “Most Disgusting List”. This was his seventh appearance on the list in the decade in which it was published, and he had been placed lower on two other occasions. he looks

Not surprisingly, the AMG G63 wasn’t the only big car to make the “coolest” list. It was followed by two muscle trucks: the Ram 1500 TRX 4×4 (with 22 points) and the Ford F-150 Raptor R (24). In total, the “dirty list” includes seven SUVs, three trucks and only two cars. The set also includes an electric car. Despite its all-electric powertrain, the £9,000 GMC Hummer EV scored 29 points, bad enough for ninth place this year.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, the greenest car of the year was the Toyota Prius Hybrid (71), followed by two electric vehicles: the Lexus RZ 300e (67) and the Mini Cooper SE (67).
