Metallica won’t be riding lightning in Europe this summer.
According to Jalopnik, the legendary heavy metal band will be taking electric and hydrogen pickup trucks to the European leg of their M72 world tour this summer. Vehicles from Italian company Iveco will transport the band’s equipment between 14 concerts across the continent.
For the second year in a row, Metallica’s convoy will include Iveco’s heavy-duty electric and hydrogen fuel cell trucks S-Eave and S-Way, which will travel between Munich, Warsaw and Madrid. Although specifications are unknown, the range of the former is estimated to be over 300 miles, while the range of the latter is 944 miles. Last summer, Iveco introduced a new hydrogen fuel cell model with a range of 497 miles. It is unclear whether the truck will accompany the band on tour.
