The Spectacular Jaguar Supercar From The Film Specter Is Now Road Legal

If you don’t succeed the first time, try, try again (and try again).

The 2015 Jaguar C-X75 Specter is finally road legal by Calm Design. The British company has unveiled a road-going version of one of its most memorable concepts, nearly a decade and a half after its debut.

The coupe debuted at the 2010 Paris Motor Show and was intended to be a progressive return to Jaguar’s glory days. It had a combination of a stunning design that was reminiscent of the luxury cars produced by the brand in the 1990s and a hybrid powertrain unlike any other car before (or since). This unique setup was expected to include four electric motors to keep the car’s batteries charged and two turbines powered by natural gas, diesel or biofuel. As strange as the concept was, that didn’t stop the brand from announcing plans to build 250 examples of the car with the help of Williams Advanced Engineering.

It seems this was a bit ambitious, as the C-X75 never made it into production. By the time the project ended, only a few prototypes had been built. However, over time, Jaguar found a use for these cars. He eventually shared the screen with Daniel Craig in 2015’s Spectre, the 24th James Bond film, where he appeared as a car driven by Dave Bautista’s evil character Mr. Hinks. he looks

This is one of the cars that has been made road legal by the company of Ian Callum, the original designer of the C-X75. Not surprisingly, the car doesn’t have the futuristic powertrain that Jaguar originally introduced. Instead, it and the three other cars used in the film Specter are powered by 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 engines. There are still “hundreds” of other changes and improvements to be made before the car can drive on public roads in the UK.

According to the press release, the car underwent a complete redesign, which included a revised engine calibration, new catalytic converters, and a quieter exhaust system. Changes had to be made in the body also. The car has been completely repainted, its carbon fiber trim has been refinished, and all panel gaps have been reduced and smoothed. It was also equipped with new side mirrors.

A street-legal C-X75 will never be produced, but at least you’ll be able to see this special example in person. The most beautiful jaguar in recent memory will make its public debut at the Bicester Heritage Scramble in Oxfordshire on 21 April.
